Managing permissions and login credentials to access Microsoft Advertising accounts
Hi Jestony,
Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Advertising Forum. I hope you are well.
I will be more than happy to assist you with identifying how you can link manager accounts, so that you can assist your client with their advertising needs.
In order to link to your client:
- Select Accounts from the global menu.
- Select Accounts Summary, and then select Requests.
- Click Link to account.
- Under Linking details, enter the Account number/Manager account number.
The account number is an 8-digit mix of numbers and letters. - Enter the Start date, which is the date you want to start managing the account.
- Add an optional Note, which you can use as a helpful note to the account owner.
- Click Send request if you don't wish to take over billing, or select I will take over billing for this account for Who pays.
- Select How you pay (prepay, postpay threshold, or monthly invoice) and What you pay with (your payment method).
For monthly invoice accounts, we encourage you to create an insertion order so that the account will continue to serve ads even as the management responsibilities change hands. - Click Send request.
We'll send an email to the account owner, notifying them of the linking request. The owner has 30 days to accept the request. After 30 days, the request is automatically declined.
Please bear in mind that if you would like to manage their manager account, then this would include all accounts situated within the umbrella, however if you would just like to manage the sole account, you can simply enter the account number when you are inputting the linking details.
Moving forward, should you decide to part ways with the corresponding client, this can be easily accomplished by follow the steps below:
- Select Tools from the global menu, and then select Account access.
- If you have multiple accounts, choose one from the account selector in the global menu at the top of the page.
- Select Direct managers from the main menu.
- Select the linked account, and then click Unlink from account.
- Enter the Start date, which is the date you want to stop managing the account.
- Add an optional Note, which you can use as a helpful note to the account owner.
- Click Unlink.
