Hello Syma,
Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Community Forum!
From what I understand your query seems to be related to Microsoft Bing Places where you are trying to import and sync your listings from Google Business Profiles (GBP), but the details of the listings are not appearing correctly on your Bing Places account. I hope the information below could be of some help to you.
Customers with Google Business Profile (GBP) accounts have two options when bringing GBP listings into their Bing Places account:
Import option:
- This is always done manually.
- This option allows you to bring over your new listings and update existing listings****in Bing Places and establishes a connection between GBP and your Bing Places account, so that future changes made to GBP listings can be captured using the sync process.
Sync option:
Advertisers running Google Business Profile (GBP) and Bing Places accounts can now use the ability to synchronize (sync) their accounts. You can use this option to pull information from GBP in order to create/update listing in Bing Places. you can also push information to GBP from Bing Places.
Customers can choose to either run Manual syncs or schedule Automatic syncs:
- Manual sync is only available for small and medium businesses with less than 100 listings across both GBP and Bing Places.
- Automatic syncs will only update listings in Bing Places which have previously been linked with counterparts in GBP. There is no limit to the number of listings that can be updated during an automated sync.
- Once a GBP account has been linked to a Bing Places account via the import process, changes made to GBP will be brought over and will update the Bing Places listing the next time a sync is performed.
- If listings are matched, GBP data is used to overwrite the Bing Places listing information.
- If the listings are new, new listings will be created.
Main points about the import process:
You can use the import process to link your GBP account with your Bing Places account. This will help you save time instead of manually recreating listings from scratch. The following points listed below are noteworthy if you are attempting the import option:
No Listings/Empty Account: If you have no listings in your account, the import option will be available to all user types. By deleting all listings in an account, an existing user can re-access this workflow. Customers can import all listings from GBP (verified or unverified). They will also have the opportunity to complete verification using the Bing Places verification **** workflow for unverified listings imported.
Existing Listings on the Account: If you already have listings on your Bing Places account, then the import option will appear if you see an 'Import button' for it on your account. If you have chain listings, only verified listings on GBP will be imported and only chains for which no new listings (branches) have been added. Therefore, the 'Import button' will be greyed out in accounts which only have Chains with existing listings in them.
Verified Listings in GBP will not need to be verified in Bing Places.****The listings will be reviewed and will go live on Bing after a standard publish cycle which normally lasts around ten days.
Depending on whether the customer has listings or not, they can access the Import workflow in one of two ways:
- Users with no existing listings: Go to your Bing Places account and choose New User.
On the subsequent page, selectImport from Google Business Profile Now. (for some users it says 'Google My Business')
- Small/Medium Business user with existing listings: Select Add Single Business from within your account.
On the subsequent page, select Import Data from Google Business Profile.
- By selecting the Import option, a new pop-up will load, informing you how your data will be used and what permissions we need.
- Selecting Continue to Google Business Profile will take you to the GBP sign-in page where you can confirm the permissions being requested by Bing Places.
- You must select Allow for a successful connection.
Note: If there are GBP connection errors, a message will state “We could not fetch data from your Google Business Profile account”. You will then be asked to search and claim your listing(s) by using the standard Bing Places process for claiming listings.
- After selecting Allow, you will be presented with a list of your top listings (or Business Locations, in the case of multiple chain management). You will then be able to select which ones to import and can then select Continue.
- After the import is complete a Google Business Profile Import Summary page will load, calling out any possible issues with imported data (e.g. missing attributes or for accounts with existing listings: any listings that have been duplicated)
Note: Since GBP allows listings to be entered without an address, these listings will also be flagged by Bing Places. Bing Places requires address information to be provided. By selecting Review address, an option for making edits will open up on the right side of the page where you can enter your correct information, and after selecting Next,****you can enter the listing’s address and select Submit.
- Once the import process is completed and all errors have been resolved, you can select Continue to return to your account.
- Lastly, listing will be expected to go live on Bing after the end of a standard publish cycle which normally lasts around ten days.
Note: (accounts with no listings only): Unverified listings that have been imported will remain unverified until the customer completes the standard verification process.
Main points about the sync process:
Once an initial import from GBP has been completed, a connection will be established between your Bing Places account and your Google Business Profile account.
As stated above, you can choose to either run manual syncs or schedule automatic syncs:
- Manual sync: You manually decide when to sync listing information between GBP and Bing Places, such as updating existing listings, or exporting new listings in Bing places into GBP.
- Automated sync: You can schedule automated syncs to occur periodically, which will onlyupdate previously synced listings in Bing Places when they are updated in GBP.
In Manual sync cases, the advantage is that if listings are already verified in GBP, they will automatically be verified after sync with Bing Places (as long as address information is available).
- This is only available for Small/Medium businesses (less than 10 listings)
- It is not possible to update existing GBP listings by making changes on your Bing Places dashboard.
- Changes made to a Bing Places listing will be overwritten by conflicting changes in GBP, regardless of which was updated most recently.
If you only want to sync one of your listings with your Google listings, you can also click on the 'sync now' option on one individual listing's page:
You can select between these options: weekly, biweekly, monthly.
When syncing, a pop-up will appear where you must confirm the permissions required to allow the sync to happen. You will then need to login to GBP with your credentials for confirming.
You can review the exact details of the privacy policies (Microsoft Privacy Statement) by clicking on the provided link.
Other points to keep in mind:
The following may prevent successful import into Bing Places:
- Address Data formatting: Address in Bing Places is displayed on two lines, address in GBP has three lines. Please also note that 'State Name' is not supported in Bing Places.
- Category information is not imported, as these are different in GBP; however, the listings will still be created in Bing Places. Advertisers will need to manually apply the appropriate category to their imported listings.
- Having a phone number is not mandatory on GBP, so this may not be imported in some cases. Bing Places will still publish the listing, but once a user selects Edit, they will be prompted to add this mandatory information. Please note that each time a listing is verified or edited, the publish cycle will begin anew which normally lasts around ten days. If the listing details don't reflect correctly on Bing search
