Type cover filter driver missing in device manager

unable to get my type cover to work after it suddenly stopped working 3 days ago.

Tried everything I found on google about this issue:

Two button reset, roll back to previous build, download drivers from Microsoft Surface section, cleaned pins with alcohol, uninstalled HID driver

Still the type cover filter device won't show up in the device manager.

I am running Win 10, Ver 1709, build 16299.125

Any other ideas before I throw it in front of a steam roller?

Thanks!

The next thing you can do is to run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit to check for possible software issues, then you can do a force shut down and restart your device.

We'll be waiting for your response.

    Hi Erwin

thank you. I have downloaded and executed the Surface Firmware Tool.msi file from there.

It installed successfully but I am not sure what to do next? It did not fix the keyboard problem.

    Thanks

    Oliver
