OK.  I have pretty much everything working on this phone that I need except:

  1. Quick response to calls.  When someone called me on my Galaxy I had the option to send a quick response text to them.  I see the Quick Response item in Settings, but when someone calls me I don't have an option to send them a Quick Response.  Is there a setting I am missing? UPDATE: It appears this works sometimes and doesn't work other times...
  2. When I text someone on my Samsung I typically just hit the microphone button and dictate my response.  I see a microphone button (Just over the ',' key.  You have to do a long press), but when I use it, I just get to speak one sentence and then it cuts off.  Am I doing something wrong?
  3. With my previous phones I was able to "pin" chats to the top of the program.  Don't see a way to do that with the Duo.

4.  Since this issue is with a Microsoft product I don't understand why this is not available...  When I get a calendar invite in Outlook I need to check my availability before responding.  This worked fine on my Samsung.  When you hit RSVP a dialog box comes up where you select "Accept", "Tentative" or "Decline".  There is a drop down arrow that is supposed to show your calendar so you can check for any conflicts.  That drop down does not work.  Pressing it does not show the calendar.

Hello to answer the questions in order here:

    1. For quick reply: When you receive an incoming call with your Surface Duo that is open to one screen, the ability to reply to the caller with a quick text response can be done by tapping Reply. This option is not currently available when you are using both screens.

    2.  When you are dictating text are you pausing more then about a second between sentences?

    1. There is currently no pinning chat options in the messages app.
    2. I have just reproduced what you are mentioning with the Outlook RSVP dropdown and am currently researching this.

    Thank you

    Thanks Tom!!!,

    1.  Why would they only allow replies when you are using 1 screen?  I'm sure there is a good reason, but I never use just one screen.  Also, if i were to fold the other screen back when a call was coming in, would the option pop up, or is it too late at that point?  Also, is this going to change in the future to have the option pop up regardless of the number of screens?

    2.   I am dictating with the same exact cadence I used on my Samsung.  If I try to keep the pauses as short as possible, it helps, but that's not practical.  I was able to pause a lot more on my Samsung and it worked flawlessly.  My wife has an iPhone (boo) and it works fine.  I think the system has to allow longer pauses.  I have been a pretty big user of voice dictation for a long time and the Duo is not allowing enough time to get the sentence out.

    3.   OK.  Would be a "nice to have", but that's it.

    4.  Thank you.

    Joel

UPDATE:  I tested out the reply to incoming call function.  I had only one screen open at the time and I was NOT provided with the option to reply.  It would appear it is not working as designed.  I get the reply option sometimes, but most of the time I don't.  This is the one feature that I would really like to see working properly.

Pin to chat was a most recent addition to Google messages. I had it on my s10+. It might be something the way will be added by Google later on
