RDS Server not being seen by systems

Hello,

I currently have an RDS server running in an aws environment. I have confirmed that everything is configured as it should be and ran all the tools to make sure the configuration is correct.

When I point a 2016 server instance at it for use, it says it cannot find an rds server on the network.

I have confirmed that everything can see each other on the network.

Any advice would be great on how to fix this issue.

Thanks,

Matt

    Hello,

I have one RDS server (This setup does not include a broker server, just license server) and a couple win server 2016 instances configured to use it.

When I try to access the servers I get the following error message:

    56667-screen-shot-2021-01-14-at-102238-am.png

I also have made sure the the correct GPO was set ad a domain level as well as on the servers themselves. (I still get the above message regardless)

I have verified that the systems can ping each other and nothing is being blocked by firewalls.

    Thanks

    Hi

have you try to desable local windwos 2016 Firewall temporary.

remove licence services, restart the server and set again the licence server.

Take a look here if it can help you configure-an-rds-deployment-on-a-single-server-quick-start

    Hi,

On that RDS server, have you set below two local group policies:

    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Licensing

    1. Use the specified Remote Desktop licensing servers - input the licensing server's host name or IP address
    2. Set the Remote Desktop licensing mode - Per User or Per device (based on the RDS CALs type you purchase)

Also, make sure you have purchased and installed RDS CALs on the licensing server successfully.

    Thanks,
