I'm looking to purchase a new tablet, however i would like to perform data analysis functions in excel on it as well. I understand that excel is limited and i may not be able to run solver and analysis toolpak on certain OS such as Windows RT. Which operating systems will be a safe bet for me to be able to run these functions? I'm specifically looking for something on the tablet ranges.

Microsoft discontinued the Surface RT and Surface 2 (non Intel, ARM based) a long time ago and you should not buy one from third party sellers or used, etc. Any other Surface tablet or product should be fine. Recommend at least a Surface Pro 3 - or Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book.
