Finding Policy I created

Question

Please can there be a reason why I cannot find the policy I created during practical exercise: Control and organize Azure resources with Azure Resource Manager?
After deleting the resource group, I could not find the policy (Assignment and Definition) to delete so as to clean up after the course. Any idea what might have happened?

Thanks for the question. I tried the module and was able to reproduce something similar to the issue you have reported.

Here is what I did:

• Created the Resource group
• Created the described policy definition
• Created the policy assignment scoped to the newly created resource group
• Tested the policy
• Deleted the Resource group

What I found after the resource group got deleted is that, the policy assignment got deleted with the resource group, but the policy definition remained intact. So I'm not perfectly sure why you couldn't find your policy definition as is.

To troubleshoot the issue further, you can check the Activity Log on the Azure portal (Azure Monitor > Activity Log), and check the recorded events.
