Windows Hello not working

Question

Face id does not work whenever I try to sign into my computer. It was working perfectly until it just randomly stopped working. On the lock screen, it always says "Sorry, something went wrong" and proceeds to direct me to put in my password.

I am not able to set it up again, because in the sign in options menu, it says "this option is currently not available" and doesn't allow me to remove or reset it. Whenever I click "Learn more" it just redirects me to a website that tells me how to set up windows hello, which I am not able to do.

The device I use is a Surface Laptop 2.

I have looked through multiple solutions however none of them work. Is there anything i can do to fix it?

Is your computer managed by your company?  If so, this is blocked by a group policy and your sys admin will need to update the policy on their side:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/identity-protection/hello-for-business/hello-cert-trust-policy-settings
