Hello, I have watched my performance and before enabling hyper-v (Testing on my main computer. I did word this question wrong, I meant hyper-v in general. I was mainly asking on my surface go because I was currently on it, I will test it on my surface soon regardless though.) that my performance was hanging around 0-4% CPU and 25% ram. After enabling hyper-v and allowing my computer to fully load everything waiting about a minute or 2 after boot it hangs around the same percent. I'm not sure if the people on the posts I've read were actually having an issue, or if they just didn't remember to shut down their virtual machines before trying to play games.
Hyper-V host performance hit?
Hi, I'm wondering how much overhead/performance loss I'll have if I enable Hyper-V on my Surface Go. I have seen around on the internet that a lot of users (especially in gaming) have been seeing performance hits up to 30% performance loss. (or up to 20-40 fps loss in gaming). I'm not using my surface for gaming, just using the gaming as a reference. I'm also wondering how much battery loss/desktop performance will be lost as well. I haven't been able to find any modern articles or forum posts on this so I'm not sure if this is still the case. Is there still this performance hit?

2020-03-30T22:36:46+00:00 Hi RobertWillis3594,
Thank you for choosing Microsoft. We got some updates on our concern here with the Hyper-V on the Surface Go. To be honest, there is no specific details on the performance hit but performance depends on a variety of reasons like low disk space, memory and the applications running.
Using Windows Task Manager though could be use to observe the system performance when Hyper-V is enabled and in doing task versus without enabling Hyper-V.
You may also check this page for more details on Hyper-V in Windows 10.
