Office 365 Word won't allow hard drive access

I have been storing my files on OneDrive. Office 365 Word only goes to one Directory. I will not allow me to access any other directories. In the "open" screen, the bottom of the window says "view more files" However, the text is grayed out.

Any ideas?

I am not the primary owner of the 365 license. I am a named official user.

    @David Tannenbaum

    Based on your description, I have some questions as below.

    1. Do you mean that you would like to open Word documents stored in OneDrive?
      Are “any other directories” synced to OneDrive?
      Please open Word documents in “any other directories” from the file explorer to see if you could open successfully.
    2. Are you an individual user or user in an organization?
      If you are an user in an organization and other users in your organization have the same issue, I think this may have been disabled by the administrator of your organization.
      You could try to contact him for help.
    3. Can you access other directories before? If yes, do you have any operations before the issue occurs like updating Office?

    Please give a screenshot of the page that involves the grayed out “view more files”.
    Note: please cover your private information.

    You could try to repair Office online to check this issue.

    Any updates, please let me know.
