Mouse scrolling lag & Surface Dock connection issues

Over progressive Surface Book/Windows10 updates I've noticed that my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse has been getting scrolling lags and freezes. The issue occurs across various apps, not just the browser. The batteries in the mouse are new.

Also, I'm on my second Surface Book and second Surface Dock, and the interaction between the two isn't great. Fairly often when coming out of sleep mode, the Surface Book won't recognize all of the connected peripherals - mouse, Sculpt mouse and keyboard. Sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect the Surface Dock multiple times before the Surface Book recognizes all three peripherals.

To help resolve the issue with your Surface Dock, we suggest to uninstall the latest update which might have not installed properly and triggered the problem. Once uninstalled, manually install the latest updates again. This will ensure that the current drivers and firmware are running. See the steps below to uninstall the update:

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Tap or select Programs and Features.
  3. Under Programs and Features, tap View installed updates on the left corner of the screen.
  4. Select the update which is causing the issue, and then click Uninstall.
  5. Restart Surface after uninstalling the update.

Once the Surface device has restarted, manually install the latest Surface Dock updates by following the steps on this link.

Keep us posted on your progress.

You may also refer to this link for Surface Dock firmware update.

Also, you can check your options by visiting one of our Microsoft Store near your area for further checking. You may also contact Support to discuss the process of either repair or replacement.

Regards.

Have you tried to connect your peripherals directly to the Surface Book to see how they behave?  There could be some sort of issue related to the dock itself.  Also, have you verified that the dock's firmware is up-to-date?
