    Hi nikhil dagde,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

With a battery life of up to 15.5 hours, the Surface Pro 9 is powered by a lithium-ion battery. The lifespan of a surface device's battery varies and typically relies on how it is used.

You may try the following steps to troubleshoot your device.

Force the device to shut down and restart to clear hardware cache.

Press and hold down the power button until your Surface shuts down and restarts and you see the Windows logo screen (about 20 seconds), then release the power button.

Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check Windows updates.

Installing the latest updates will help keep your Surface performing at its best. Select Check for Windows updates below to open Windows Update in Settings.

See: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit (microsoft.com)

Choose a power mode for the best battery life and performance.
To switch to a different power mode, disconnect the power supply (if it's plugged in), select Start > SettingsSystemPower & batteryPower mode. If you want to save power to write an email or finish watching a movie, move the slider to a lower setting, like Recommendedor Battery saver. Or, if you need better performance for playing a game or using a Windows Mixed Reality headset, move the slider to a higher setting (like Best performance).

    Battery usage
Use the detailed Battery information in Windows to see which apps are using the battery power.

    1. Select Settings > System > Power and battery.
    2. For Battery levels, select Last 24 hours, and then select an hour of high battery usage.
    3. For Show, select Apps with usage.

Look for apps that are using a lot of battery power. If you're not using them, you should close those unused apps.

If the apps start automatically, openTask Manager and then select the Startup tab. For any apps, you don't want to start automatically, you can select the app, then select Disable. If you're using the apps that use a lot of battery power, you might want to plug in your Surface while using those apps to help get the most from your battery over time.

Remove and reinstall battery driver. From Device Manager, expand the Batteries category. Double-tap or double-click the battery driver on your Surface, select the Driver tab, and select Uninstall > OK.  Then restart your device.

For ways to save battery power, including how to find out which apps are using the most battery, see Battery saving tips for Windows.

Up to 15.5 hours of battery life based on typical Surface device usage. Testing conducted by Microsoft in August 2022 using preproduction software and preproduction Intel^®^12th Gen Core™ i5, 256GB, 8GB RAM device. Testing consisted of full battery discharge with a mixture of active use and modern standby. The active use portion consists of (1) a web browsing test accessing eight popular websites over multiple open tabs, (2) a productivity test utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and Outlook, and (3) a portion of time with the device in use with idle applications. All settings were default except screen brightness was set to 150 nits with Auto-Brightness and Adaptive Color disabled. Wi-Fi was connected to a network. Tested with Windows Version 11.0.22621 (21H2). Battery life varies significantly with settings, usage and other factors.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
