Hi,

We are looking into add our iphones to MS Endpoint Manager and to deploy office.
We then would like to deploy Outlook, Word, Excel, ++

  1. I can see that I can either deploy from "built in ios app" or "ios store app" so what should I use ? What is the difference between these ? and I guess what is recommended.
  2. Should we deploy office as a suite (seen this somewhere) or deploy each applications like word, excel ans so on) ?

Also what happens if a user already has Outlook installed on the iphone and we pushes this with MS Endpoint Manager ?

Thanks for reply

/Andy

    1. The Built-in Apps choice is for quickly selecting apps that are built by their vendors with the Intune App SDK and thus are natively APP/MAM aware. There is no difference when choosing an App when using the Built-In option than when using the Store option (as they all come from the store). The Built-in option is just a curated list. The official documentation covers this in detail: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-add-built-in
    2. There is no such thing on iOS or Android. You must deploy each app separately.
    3. Nothing happens when the user already has the app deployed on iOS as the source is exactly the same: the Apple App Store. If you apply APP to the app , this will still get applied regardless of how the app is deployed or who deployed it. The story is different on Android Enterprise though although I won't add those details here as I don't think you are doing AE based on the question.
