Hi. I no longer can split my screen in two on my new Microsoft surface go. I was able to do it last week and now, when I take the head of the window and bring it to the left or the right, it just take all the screen and dont ask me with which other window I want it to split. Why? Did I accidently touch a bad setting? What's going on ? (sorry for the English, i'm french)

    Yeah! It's working !

I discovered by myself that its because of the ''tablet mode''. When I'm in tablet mode I can't do the split screen but when I'm not, I can !

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hi MayganeDesrochers,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. To activate split screen on your Surface Go, please Swipe down from the top of the screen to about half way or pull out an open app from the left of the screen. When you have the app in a small window floating under your finger move it to left or right of the screen and drop it when you see the separation bar appear. Or once you have apps that  are currently open you may press on the Windows logo and left arrow key to split the screen.

If this works, we highly encourage you to inform our Community by clicking on Yes or marking my post as an answer. This will help other members who may have the same issue as you. Otherwise, don't hesitate to update us so we can further assist you.

    Kind Regards,

    Rom G.

It doesn't work. The thing is that the ''separation bar'' never appear. I know what it looks like, I was able to do it last week, but now, nothing happen and the window take all the space and the separation bar never show up. I thinks its more about a setting that I put wrong but I don't know which one...

    Hi MayganeDesrochers,

Thank you for reaching us back. If that is the case please try to Run a Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and once the test is complete try to activate the Split Screen, try activating it while the type cover is attach to the Surface first. If possible please send us a Screenshot on your Surface desktop view after you attempted to activate the split screen.

    • Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit. It is a self-healing tool which looks for potential issues and fixes them, as well as ensures your device is completely up to date.

    Please keep us posted...

    Kind Regards,

    Rom G.

I did the surface diagnostic toolkit but nothing is working either… The first pictures is before, the second one is me trying to do the split screen, and the last one is after. Even if I have some other windows open. Did I do something wrong ?
