Problem using product key with my computer while still using free one month subscription

My computer keeps telling me that my Microsoft 365 Office Home & Student is expired? I purchased it a while ago but before that I was using the free one month subscription with my new computer. I don't know what the problem is here. I have a product key but it doesn't seem to be linking with my email or computer
