Surface Duo volume down button not working properly

Question

Is there a way to fix the Surface Duo volume down button? 

It doesn't work properly when normally pressing it.  Sometimes, it requires repeated presses with extreme pressure to register.  Otherwise I would need to use the volume up button and then use the onscreen slider to lower volume.  This also makes it nearly impossible to take a screenshot using the hotkey button configuration Volume Down + Power buttons.
