I have a surface pro 7. The front camera no longer works. I can no longer use it for zoom meetings or to sign in. For a time it would start to work again if I turned off the computer and restarted it. Now that doesnt work. The computer is only a few months old. Help. I am not a techie.

    Hi PAMELABAX,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.

The issue could be camera driver related. We suggest the methods below:

    • Run the Surface Diagnostic toolkit and check for Windows update.

    • Reset the Camera app, go to settings > apps & features > Camera > Advance Options > Reset then test.

    • Try other apps that's using the camera to check if the issue also happens with other camera apps.• Uninstalling and reinstalling the Camera app. Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard > Key in PowerShell and hit Enter > Right click on the PowerShell icon on the taskbar and select Run as Administrator > Now paste the following command in the Administrator: Windows PowerShell window and press Enter key:

    get-appxpackage *Microsoft.WindowsCamera* | remove-appxpackage

Wait for PowerShell to execute and complete the command. > Reinstall the Camera app, go to Microsoft Store > Search Camera > Install then test.

Please keep us updated about the issue by replying on this thread.

    Kind regards,

    John Neil_J
