Is the Microsoft Surface Pro Type Cover with Fingerprint ID (purchased in 2018) compatible with the newest Surface Pro?

    Your response and link to the different types of keyboards was very helpful; my current keyboard (with fingerprint) is definitely the "older" version as it looks like this image below. Can you tell me which keyboard I should order with the new Surface Pro? I don't need the pen or pen storage feature, but I would like the fingerprint scanner if possible

    The following Surface keyboards are compatible with Surface Pro 11th Edition:

    • Surface Pro Flex Keyboard
    • Surface Pro Keyboard
    • Surface Pro Signature Keyboard

    According to the Microsoft support link, only the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard offers an optional fingerprint reader for quick and secure logins with just a touch.

    Unfortunately, the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard with Fingerprint Reader is out of stock at the Microsoft Store. You may want to consider trying other third-party shopping sites. Surface Pro Signature Keyboard with Fingerprint Reader - Microsoft Store
