On laptops, the F keys are generally dual-purpose. Depending on the laptop, an F key with or without the Fn key does the regular Windows actions, which of course change depending on what window is active. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keyboard-shortcuts-in-windows-dcc61a57-8ff0-cffe-9796-cb9706c75eec
The other actions are laptop-specific, e.g., volume up/down, wi-fi radio on/off, brightness increase/decrease, etc.
If it's the latter functions that don't work, you may need to reinstall the F-key driver from your laptop manufacturer.

This software integrates update management, optimize settings, find solutions, member promotions, customer service and ASUS Keyboard Hotkeys. Please install ASUS System Control Interface V2 , ARMOURY CRATE UWP/Service to ensure all keyboard functions are working properly. Click to get the latest version from Microsoft Store.
Create a Restore Point just before you install it, just in case.
