Function keys on laptop aren´t functioning correctly. Please help!

So, my function keys tend to do other things which they aren´t supposed to do when I click them. All of the other keys work flawlessly though. For example, when i press F5 it refreshes the current open page and F4 opens the search bar. I have seen multiple other people have the the same exact same problem but none of the methods have worked for me. I´ve tried doing an sfc scan, reinstalling and updating the keyboard driver, the FN + ESC command, the FN + SHIFT command which worked for some and opened my BIOS (though I couldn´t find any keyboard settings). For reference I am using the ASUS Tufbook FX505GT.

Im basically stuck in a function lock, and nothing seems to be working. Can anybody help out? Please!

On laptops, the F keys are generally dual-purpose. Depending on the laptop, an F key with or without the Fn key does the regular Windows actions, which of course change depending on what window is active. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keyboard-shortcuts-in-windows-dcc61a57-8ff0-cffe-9796-cb9706c75eec

    The other actions are laptop-specific, e.g., volume up/down, wi-fi radio on/off, brightness increase/decrease, etc.

If it's the latter functions that don't work, you may need to reinstall the F-key driver from your laptop manufacturer.

The following comments are based on looking for utilities for Windows 11 x64

For the base model Asus TUF FX505, there's a download for "ASUS Keyboard Hotkeys" under "Utilities" here: https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-gaming/tuf-gaming/asus-tuf-gaming-fx505/helpdesk_download?model2Name=ASUS-TUF-Gaming-FX505

The download page for the FX505GT (https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/fx505gt/helpdesk_download/) doesn't include that app, but does include something called MyASUS UWP. The description for this is (emphasis added):

This software integrates update management, optimize settings, find solutions, member promotions, customer service and ASUS Keyboard Hotkeys. Please install ASUS System Control Interface V2 , ARMOURY CRATE UWP/Service to ensure all keyboard functions are working properly. Click to get the latest version from Microsoft Store.

Create a Restore Point just before you install it, just in case.
