I have followed all the instructions for casting my Surface screen to my other Windows PC. I have launched Connect in the target PC and it shows me as "last connected". I have launched Win-K in the Surface and it shows my target PC name and "connecting". But nothing else happens. Don't see the Surface cast on the PC the way it's supposed to. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello! How are you?

Casting depends on your network connection. It may be unstable on your internet or Wi-Fi network. Updates can also cause this problem.

    • Update both computers.
    • Restart both computers.
    • Turn off your internet modem > Wait 1 minute > Turn on your internet modem again.
    1. Open System Configuration > Click ''Update & Security'' > ''Windows Update'' > ''Check for Updates''.

    1. Download all available updates. Click on the ''Show optional updates'' option (marked in blue) if you have > Select all drivers > Click on ''Download and Install''.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Network Settings

Check if the network settings are correct.

    1. Open Windows Settings > Network and Internet > Status > Properties > Select Public.
    2. Go back to Status > Click Network and Sharing Center > Click Change Advanced Sharing Settings > Guest or Public > Enable "Turn on network discovery" and "Turn on file and printer sharing".

    Firewall

Check if Cast to Device is blocked by the Firewall.

    1. Press Windows + R > Type "control firewall.cpl" (without quotes) > Click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall" in the left tab.
    2. Look for the option "Cast to Device Functionality" or similar, and check both checkboxes.
