Hi guys,

I have Windows 10 Pooled VDI environment which I need to patch.
Apart from this thread https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/61a19d8f-aee9-47ea-9ead-7cb7ecd2cc7e/best-practice-patching-vdi-clones-gold-image?forum=winserverTS are there any other articles that describe this process in detail?

If someone could share their knowledge that would be great.

    Hi,
Following blog described how an admin can use Master (Gold) VM to roll out updates to managed pooled virtual desktop collections via server manager and PS commands.

Single Image Management for Virtual Desktop Collections in Windows Server 2012
    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-security-and/single-image-management-for-virtual-desktop-collections-in/ba-p/247541

Normally, for end users of VDI desktop, they could run update patches manually by searching windows update or the updates could be dispatched via WSUS.

Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.

    Thanks,
    Jenny

    Hi @Jenny Yan-MSFT

Referring to the process described in your link in step 4 it is said "Click Tasks on Virtual Desktops list view, and then click Recreate All Virtual Desktops . This will launch the Recreate All Virtual Desktops wizard."

Would that just apply new updates or it would roll back all VDis to their original state?
I mean at the moment users have their applications set up as well as Outlook profiles and etc.
Would rolling out updates to a pooled VDI collection erase all those changes?
