I am having a problem with the stop code Critical process error died. I have been looking for fixes, doing sfc scans, chkdsk c: /r /x /f and factory resetting. None of those work, if i factory reset then i just play for 10 minutes and it comes back randomly. Whenever i enter in my pin upon restarting i get to my wallpaper and it freezes after a few seconds and crashes with "critical process error died. Help me.

If you are still blocked by a PIN/password in the Recovery Environment, then you will need to create a bootable Windows 11 USB on another working PC and boot your PC from that, then rather than installing Windows 11, select ‘Repair this Computer’ that will give you access to the Recovery Environment from there

In the recovery Environment on the USB, you will not be blocked by a password, try each available recovery option.

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...

to download the Media Creation Tool to create the bootable USB.

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS)

If you are blocked by a PIN/Password in the recovery environment, do you have Windows 10 or 11 installed on your PC?

I cannot go into windows but whenever i go into safe mode it says "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your pin again."

If i click set up my pin it opens microsoft then closes it a millisecond after.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

If you can get into Windows:

Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.

    2

If you are unable to get into Windows, can you access Safe Mode using these steps to get the minidump files?

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

    Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Settings and click Restart

Upon restart, press 5 to enter Safe Mode
