Issues installing Windows updates.

I purchased a new HP laptop last week and enrolled it in the Windows Insider Beta channel. Now I can not install Windows updates. It stops at 8% every time with a message that it can't download because other updates are in progress. I left it running since Friday, and nothing new has been downloaded or installed. I don't know where to find anything else that might be downloading, and I can't imagine it would take that long to do so either. Can anyone offer any advice, please? Thank you!

    Hi Tammy Phillips,

Be careful using beta installs on a new computer as warranty might be invalid.

Which model is the HP laptop? Did it come with Windows 11 already installed?

    Hello

Thank you for posting your question in the forum

As per your query, I want you to inform you that since you’re on the Windows Insider Beta channel, update issues can sometimes occur due to conflicts with pending updates, corrupt system files, or background processes blocking the installation.

To resolve your issue, you can taka below steps:

    • Go to the Windows Update,
    • Check Windows Insider Preview then switch out from Windows insider Preview
    • After switching out restart the windows then install.

I hope it helps you solve your problem.

    Best regards
