Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you receive an error, ‘0x80080005’ when trying to install Wireless Display. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

However, please let us know:

  1. Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
  2. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

Let us try couple of more troubleshooting steps and see if that helps.

Method 1: Run SFC and DISM scan

We can try running DISM and SFC command and see if that helps. To do this, refer the steps mentioned in the article Using System File Checker in Windows 10.

Method 2: Rename Software Distribution folders

We can try renaming the software distribution folders and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1.    Type command prompt in the search bar on the Taskbar.

2.    Right click on the command prompt icon and select Run as administrator.

3.    Type or paste the command and hit enter:net stop bitsnet stop wuauservren %systemroot%\softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.bakren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.baknet start bitsnet start wuauserv

4.    Restart the computer.

Method 3: New user account

Try creating a new user account and see if you are able to upgrade to install Wireless Display. Refer the article Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
