Yes, those are all valid points. Win 11 is reminding me what Microsoft tried to do with Vista, and it backfired on them (dumbdes down the UI). For the system requirements, that should of been communicated better. But I have a 10 year old custom built PC with a ASRock Z68 Motherboard, Intel I7-3770K CPU, no TPP/TPM, no secure boot. But I have 16 GB RAM, 2TB Samsung SSD, and 980ti video card. I was able to upgrade from the last Win 10 Dev built to Win 11 without any problems or errors. But as of now, I like the layout and customization of Win 10 more.
Windows 11 Taskbar Features.
Split from this thread.
I could discuss about design, pros or cons about removing tiles, removing the tabled mode.... but I do not do this.
The point I do not understand is that the Windows 11 Taskbar does not support toolbars anymore or IDeskband Shell Extensions, it is unbelievable, this this gaves the user to have the possibility to have a straighten up desktop since a folder structure with links was used as Toolbar or for some particular tools a IDeskband was displayed for a particular hardware to show the connection state and some other important information. Often an icon in the notification area is not enough, now it is gone.
For me it is kind of not understandable why this has been removed. Is there a place to post requests for changes, since making the intelligent Windows 10 taskbar to some thumb equivalent is kind of strange....
But my guess is at the end Windows 11 will be a step back like Windows 8 was when it came out. :-(

2021-07-05T14:25:37+00:00 Start seems like a step back in functionality. For users who are used to clicking left corner they will now get 'ads' vs the Start menu there (placement). Much as the indicator says 'News' the presence of an overwhelming number of ads is unmistakable. Maybe they will need to implement a simplified menu as is available on phones ? This new format will likely be more popular with phone users vs PC / Desktop users. Will be interesting to find out. There are still desktop users who are used to saving 'everything' on desktop. Wonder where this will go.
Overall looks 'pretty' . Feel that Microsoft 'sold it's soul in capitulating with 'rounded' (Apple / Android) corners. It's not like a user would get 'cut' moving a 'square' tile around, right ?
Anyway the elephant in the room has to do with the requirements. Microsoft could have done this better. Would like to see a better explanation of the specifics that cause some processors to be off the list and better explanations and options for TPR (there are alternative implementations). It would be helpful too if the manufacturers would come out of their zoom meetings and address compatibility of their devices with Windows 11 including the ones they already have sold. Will any of them go back and update those ancient Bios files ? One would think that Microsoft had some kind of conversation with the manufacturers at some point. Microsoft also needs to speak to users using its voice as a manufacturer. Why are certain Surface unable to upgrade to Win 11 ? Panos ? Anyone ?

2021-07-05T13:33:52+00:00 I agree that the bottom taskbar in Win 11 is a big step back in features, functionality, and user settings. I personally don't like Icon Grouping and always keep it turned off. That way open programs shows as a "bar" on the taskbar with the full name of the program. Now in Win 11 were just stuck with Group Icons.
