File and Print Sharing Trouble with Windows 10 Enterprise

I have an odd situation.

There are 2 Win10 Enterprise workstations:

  • A connects successfully to B's shares without issue
  • B can see the 'Public Folder' in the \A\Users share
  • A appears in B's network share along with a '\A\c_drive' share (another share on C:) and another folder I've shared on A
  • However, no configuration of permissions on either the folders (at share level or in the folder properties on A) work
  • Attempting to 'Map Network Drive' on B to a UNC path on A (like \A\c_drive) an error dialogue is returned, with the message "The network folder speciified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network drive."
  • I do this, but the error persists - I've verified that connections to the share resource reads '0' (zero) in Computer Management\Shared Folders
  • the 'net use' command at the command prompt seems to work initially, but then if I try to access the shared folder(s), I get the following error message:
  • "Access to the path '\A\c_drive' is denied."
  • "Cannot find path '\A\c_drive' because it does not exist."

I've been going through prior forum messages and walkthroughs seemingly everywhere online (to the tune of 4 hours of effort) without success, so I'm appealing those knowledgeable here. To all appearances, I should add, B is configured identically to A where file and print sharing are concerned.

Any/all assistance very gratefully appreciated!

Sincerely,
RH

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late reply!

    >>> The network folder speciified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network drive."

1.When you Attempting to 'Map Network Drive' on B, do you use the same account as before? If the share is mapped under a different user, you get that message. For more details, please refer to:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/networking/cannot-connect-to-network-share

    >>> "Access to the path '\A\c_drive' is denied."

1.Please make sure that the account you use have FullControl access for the file security property.

Hope you have a nice day : )
    Gloria
