Laptop wakes from sleep showing 0% battery

I leave my Dell Latitude laptop (running Windows 10) plugged in. The battery shows 100% charged. To put it to sleep, I press the function key + Insert, which is marked as the sleep button, because I don't want it to sleep every time the lid is closed. The next morning, I open the lid and briefly press the power button, which brings up the screen that I was viewing when it went to sleep. The battery icon shows 0%. A few seconds later, the screen goes dark and the power button light goes out. I press the power button again. The screen displays the Dell splash screen and a spinning dot circle for a very short time, then comes up--AGAIN--with the screen that I was viewing when it went to sleep. This time the battery icon shows 100%. Mousing over it shows that it is fully charged. How do I get it to stop doing this? I want it to simply wake from sleep with its 100% battery charge showing.

    Hello @CMacKirnan

    1. Updated Windows fully, check and install the Intel HD Graphics driver displayed by Windows updates and restart the system.
    2. Check System Files, Run CMD as administrator, type "sfc /scannow" and press Enter, restart computer after finishing scan.
    3. In Device Manager, Expand the "System devices" section and find "Intel Management Engine Interface". Right-click it and select "Properties". click the "Power Management" tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" checkbox. Click "OK" to save the changes. Restart your computer.
    4. Stop or remove any antivirus software and check if the issue persists.
    5. Try creating a new user account and check if the issue persists.

    Best Regards
    Karlie

    Hello,

Please run Power troubleshooter from Settings app > Update & security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.

    See if it helps you.

    Hope this helps!

I'm facing the same issue. With full battery if I put computer to sleep, and turn it on within 5 minutes without power cord connected. Window shows 0% battery and shuts down. But if I turn on laptop with power cored connected, everything seems fine. And after the computer is turned on, if i remove power cord, the battery continues to work normally for 2 hours.

I tried the following, but nothing helped. (Using HP Omen Laptop) :

    -Updated BIOS to latest version

    -Updated all Windows Drivers

-Updated Windows 10 to latest version

    -Run Power troubleshooter

-In Device Manager > System devices > Intel Management Engine Interface > Properties > Power Management tab : Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

    -Battery Calibration
