Hi there! I am in the DEV Channel, and I wish to leave the Insider program. However, in spite of a clean installation, Widows keeps reinstalling the DEV build on my computer. What can I do? Thanks in advance.
Leaving the Insider Program
I wish to leave the Insider program in Windows 11 after several years, but apparently I am registered in it under some email I can't determine. It says my main Microsoft account info is not known, the same for my 2 backup Microsoft accounts. Without a correct email, all options are greyed out. I tried doing a Recovery using my recovery address, but the Insider Recovery won't let me use thar - says I must use a Microsoft account or a business account. I don't want to do a clean install of Windows.
Leave the program now This email address is not registered as a Windows Insider.

If yes then you can leave insider program by deleting WindowsSelfHost -key from registry and then do in-place update to Windows 11 24H2.
Download ISO for 24H2
Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
Delete WindowsSelfHost -key
- Open open regedit (push Win key and type regedit).
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost
- On left panel right click that key and delete it.
- Close regedit and restart.
- Check your insider settings to see that its out of Insider Program.
Do in-place update
- Mount downloaded ISO: Double click or right click and select mount
- On new virtual drive run setup.exe to start in-place update
Now you should be out WIP running released version of Windows 11 24H2.

- Download ISO for 24H2
- Delete WindowsSelfHost -key to get out of getting previews.
- Mount downloaded ISO and run setup.exe to make in-place repair/update to get 24H2.
