remove recent file history from Notepad

I'm using Windows 11 on an HP Envy machine and opened some text files from a CD.

For convenience I place Notepad on the task bar

I removed the CD and found that one of the text files cannot be removed from Recent history, see the attached image.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Notepad. This did not work.
