I followed the process and opted for leaving. But after that I restarted my laptop. After that I checked the status now it automatically changed to dev channel, i confused I tried to leave but it stayed in dev channel. Please help me to get back to public version without erasing the windows.

Current Dev channel build 26120.xxx is based on same codebase as 24H2 (build 26100) so you can do in-place repair/update to get released version 24H2.

Follow these steps to get your device out of insider program and return to 24H2

    Download ISO for 24H2

    Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

    Delete WindowsSelfHost -key

    • Open open regedit (push Win key and type regedit).

    - Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost

    • On left panel right click that key and delete it.
    • Close regedit and restart.
    • Check your insider settings to see that its out of Insider Program.

    Do in-place repair/update

    • Mount downloaded ISO: Double click or right click and select mount
    • On new virtual drive run setup.exe to start in-place update

Now you should be out WIP running released version of Windows 11 24H2.

I was on Insider Preview (Release Preview Channel) Build 26100.2161 and I had applied for unenrollment before the official release of Windows 24H2, however, after the release official release I was still enrolled but queued for unenrollment, until I saw your post.

What I did so far, I just deleted the registry key and restarted the PC, and I can confirm I am no longer on Insider Preview (Release Preview Channel) and currently on Build 26100.2161 which I think is the latest as of now.

My question is, do I still need to download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO and do the in-place update?

No, you are on released version. If everything is working fine there is no need for in-place update.

    Hey,
    is that still the case?
i mean i am currently on the Dev channel and noticed that beta channel opened up

Does that mean i can get out too?
do i need to do any of the steps above or can i wait in beta channel to get out
because i have to much data on my pc that i cant loose
i've seen in the setting below i can enable the queue to get out as soon as an update comes out. would that be enough?
