After doing a clean install of Windows 11 Pro v 23H2 (Build 22631.2361), I ran 'Check for Updates' and got this -

So why was I offered an update which was not for my build?

I assume you got the 22631.2361 ISO.

Yes I did; I created a bootable flash drive using Rufus.

I also got most of your listed updates by repeatedly running 'Check for Updates' and KB5030310 wasn't offered again.

I think you just got a timing problem with W.U.

I just did a clean install and did not get any attempt to download or install KB5030310 with W.U. 🤷‍♂️

    B.T.W.

I never use Rufus to create my install media, I just use a regular FAT32 USB flash and split the install.wim to get files below the 4GiB limit for fat32. 😉

    To split install.wim to install.swm and install2.swm:

    Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:D:\Temp\install.wim /SWMFile:D:\Temp\install.swm /FileSize:4000

I have seen that happen usually when I do an update repair in place with ISO while connected to the internet.

I have not seen that on a clean install.

I assume you got the 22631.2361 ISO.

That KB5030310 is the one that just came down on Sept 26, to get to .2361 builds.

Seems like W.U. did not see or check if that it was already installed.

Pause and Resume updates should take care of the problem.

Here is W.U. on a clean install of 22631.2361, I don't see KB5030310 offered in my case. 🤷‍♂️
