I recently got the Windows 11 preview and installed it. But once I tried playing Minecraft Java, it would let me in the game but as soon as I try and join a world or server, the game crashes. Any way to fix this, or will I have to deal with this until the next Win 11 update.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that Minecraft Java edition doesn’t work on your computer after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assists you with the issue.

One of the things you may try is to perform a Clean Boot and see if you are able to play the game.

Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer. However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.

To perform a clean boot on the computer refer to the article How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

If performing a clean boot fixes the issue then, please refer to the section How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean bootto check which program is causing the issue.

Note: Please refer the sectionReset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshootingto boot the computer in to normal mode after troubleshooting.

However, since you are using Windows 11 preview build, we do have an app where you can submit your ideas and suggestions. You can use the Microsoft Feedback Hub to tell us about any issues or suggestions, which will help us improve the Windows experience.
