My RAM go high quickly; programs including Microsoft built-in crashing.

I've been experiencing issues with my storage and laptop in general for several days now.

My laptop is new and not slow, but I've observed that...

  1. Even when I only use Chrome or Edge, my RAM is quickly used up
  2. I can no longer run numerous apps without the app/program crashing or freezing (I cannot run MS teams and at the same time use Chrome because it crashes)
  3. Chrome/Edge crashes or freezes even when I'm only opening a few tabs (usually with "aw snap" "error: out of memory"), leading my laptop to completely freeze into a dark screen. (I have to restart again in order to use it)
  4. Icons in the bar beloware overlapping

I have 8 GB of RAM. Please tell me how to fix it; I've searched, updated my Windows, and tried everything, but nothing works.

    Hi Cha__ -

Thanks for the detailed response. Let's try to create a new user profile to check if the same issue will appear because it seems that it's not your RAM that's causing the issue. Click the link below for the steps.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cre...

If the issue does not appear on the new user profile, then your main user profile might be corrupted. However, if the same issue appeared on the new user profile, sign back into your main user profile and perform In-place Repair/Upgrade.

    In-Place Repair

    • In-place repair/upgrade or repair reinstall is a process of re-installing Windows without touching any of your applications or personal files. In this way if there's any data corruption, damaged system files or missing system files on your computer, this repair will fix or repair them.

To start we need to download an ISO file of Windows 11 and save it to your computer. Please follow the instruction on the link below to create an ISO file

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

After the ISO is created, follow the steps below on how to perform repair install on your computer.

Note: Please make sure that you're signed in or have administrator rights to be able to proceed for the repair install.

    1. Unplug all external hardware except mouse, keyboard and LAN cable.
    2. Disable or uninstall any third-party antivirus program/application to prevent them from interfering with the repair install.
    3. Run the ISO file that you downloaded, if there's a prompt asking you "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" Click Yes
    4. Windows 11 setup will open, read the license terms then Click Accept button.
    5. Select Upgrade PC now then click Next button.
    6. Follow the steps on your screen.

This process will take some time to complete so you need to be very patient in waiting until the process completes. Once done, restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

    Regards,

    Jerico T.

I tried all the steps you've given to me, but it seems like it doesn't solve my problem.

    1. Out of Memory when browsing even if I only opened a few tabs
    2. Several programs are still crashing, this time it includes my audio.
    3. Can't still use Teams while using Chrome/Edge without it crashing

4.When I open two to four applications or apps at once, my laptop completely freezes or crashes that I have to restart it in order to use.
