i get the message "Upload 1 missing dSYM required to process 12 crashes" in my Firebase portal.

I'm in Xamarin.Firebase.iOS.crashlytics 4.6.2, fails to upload dsym. please help

I added below line, even it did not work:
<FirebaseCrashlyticsUploadSymbolsEnabled>True</FirebaseCrashlyticsUploadSymbolsEnabled>

Welcome to our Microsoft Q&A platform!

Only and simple way to upload DSYMS files to Firebase Crashlytics manually

Download appDsyms archive from App Store

1.1 Login: https://appstoreconnect.apple.com

1.2 Go to: MyApps -> Choose your app -> Activity (top left) -> Select version you want to get crashes -> Includes Symbols: press -> Download dSYM.

Open terminal, drag and drop 3 files on terminal on this order:

2.1 drag an drop: "upload-symbols" which can be found in /project/Pods/FirebaseCrashlytics/upload-symbols

2.2 write " -gsp "

2.3 drag an drop: "GoogleService-Info.plist" which can be found in /project/GoogleService-Info.plist

2.4 write " -p ios "

2.5 drag an drop: "appDsyms" folder which usually is in Download folder /Users/username/Downloads/appDsyms

2.6 Press Enter

In terminal the complete command should include -gsp and -p ios, full command looks like this: 2.1 -gsp 2.3 -p ios 2.5

i was looking for a way to do it in Xamarin Forms(iOS). The above solutions must be for native iOS.
Please let me know if you know the way for xamarin forms.

Actually, i dint run it on Terminal(I'm using mac book). i Just followed below steps, please let me know if i'm missing something.

Added GoogleService-Info.plist which i have downloaded post Nov 15th 2020.

Enabled 'Enable Device-Specific build' and added "--dsym=yes"

Added in Property type <FirebaseCrashlyticsUploadSymbolsEnabled>True</FirebaseCrashlyticsUploadSymbolsEnabled>

If i'm missing something please do let me know.

Note: I'm getting below warning, hope thats not causing the issue.

It's suggested to run the script since it provides more information about the upload process and more robust error messaging as google described: https://firebase.google.com/docs/crashlytics/get-deobfuscated-reports#upload-dsyms.

For the warning, it can be something related, also, you can find details about using firebase Crashlytics in Xamarin here: https://github.com/xamarin/GoogleApisForiOSComponents/blob/master/docs/Firebase/Crashlytics/GettingStarted.md

The above link explains more of ios and xcode related(pods) and stuff. How can we achieve the same with Xamarin forms.

Sorry for miss this point. After some research, I find some ways that may help. But it's not for the latest version, hope things didn't change too much:

According to https://github.com/xamarin/GoogleApisForiOSComponents/issues/312, you can try find the script under folder: /Users/{username}/Library/Caches/XamarinBuildDownload/{versioninfo}/upload-symbols

If you can't find the script file, try setup a test xcode project. Installed cocoapods, added crashlytics to the podfile and ran the "install". And find the script in pod path. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/62448944/xamarin-ios-crashlytics-dsym-file

If none of these works, then please consider file an issue in https://github.com/xamarin/GoogleApisForiOSComponents/issues

I remember, i too commented the below lines,

But unfortunately now i'm unable to find the path of it.

As you suggested i tried the path, But could find the folder uptil XamarinBuildDoanload, and not further(Users/{username}/Library/Caches/XamarinBuildDownload/).

/Users/{username}/Library/Caches/XamarinBuildDownload/{versioninfo}/upload-symbols

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Raghavendra G R , got some clue from https://github.com/xamarin/GoogleApisForiOSComponents/blob/master/source/Firebase/Crashlytics/Crashlytics.targets, looks like the upload-symbols.sh can be found under XamarinBuildDownload/FCrshlytcs-4.6.2/...
But I noticed something strange with your screenshot, you've declared that you're using Xamarin.Firebase.iOS.crashlytics 4.6.2 but I didn't find version 4.6.2 in your XamarinBuildDownload folder, which shouldn't be the case. And in firebase portal, it's also showing messages about update the Crashlytics library.
Suggest you clean your project, delete bin and obj file, delete the Crashlytics nuget and reinstall it with the latest version to see if you can get the latest version first.

Hi @Nicole Lu-MSFT ,

I have done deleting the bin,obj folder earlier also, upon your saying again i did. But i dint find the FCrshlytcs-4.6.2 even now.
Attaching the screenshot of the packages i have added to my project. Not sure if i have missed to add any of the support plugin, you can take a look.

Xamarin.Firebase.Core(60.1142.1) which i'm unable to update, suspecting if its the cause.
Error:
Package Xamarin.Firebase.Core 118.0.1 is not compatible with xamarinios10 (Xamarin.iOS,Version=v1.0). Package Xamarin.Firebase.Core 118.0.1 supports: monoandroid90 (MonoAndroid,Version=v9.0)
(Ignore if this is not the cause for the main issue which we are discussing)

I deleted all the plugins from folder "~/.nuget/packages". After deleting i restored all the packages and now i'm able to see "FCrshlytcs-4.6.2" in XamarinBuildDownload. This confirms that i'm on the latest version of the plugin.

But when i open 'FCrshlytcs-4.6.2/upload-symbols.sh' its was in unreadable format. !
Not sure how to proceed further.

Sorry for the late response!
Content format unreadable can be a file encode issue, but it won't affect you use the file.
Please try use this .sh file directly with the command as Leon described above(the difference is that you'll drag and drop the .sh file in your FCrshlytcs-4.6.2 folder) and see if you can successfully upload the file, or if you can get any detailed error message for it.

the upload-symbols.sh script can be found under:
/Users/{username}/Library/Caches/XamarinBuildDownload/FCrshlytcs-{versioninfo}/upload-symbols.sh

Once we found the script file, we can leverage the script to upload DYSM file manually: https://firebase.google.com/docs/crashlytics/get-deobfuscated-reports#upload-dsyms
