Edge browser window doesn't open in full screen

All of a sudden, any on-line site I click to open opens in a small window. If I click on the small square in the upper right, the window is normal size. However, if I close that site and reopen it, same thing - small window.

If I put my cursor on the lower right corner and enlarge the window that way,  it is the same as clicking on the small square - when I close the window and reopen it, still small.

What do I have to do to get the pages to be normal size when I open them?

***Original Title: Small windows***

I am having the exact same issue as the person who made the original post.  I followed the recommended steps to resolve the problem, it did not change anything.  Are there any other options for resolving this issue?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are opening a website and it’s opening in a small window, rather in full screen. Ideally, the webpage will open how it was accessed in the last session. But as you mentioned that the webpage was maximized before closing it, then it should open in full screen. Does this occur for any specific webpage or is it for all?

However, we would suggest you to perform these steps and then check.

    1. Create a Desktop shortcut for Microsoft Edge.
      • Press Windows R key and type in shell:appsfolder, then click Ok.
      • Scroll down to Microsoft edge, drag and drop the icon for Microsoft edge on the Desktop
    2. Right click on Microsoft Edge and select Properties.
    3. Select the shortcut tab from the top.
    4. Change the Run option to Maximized.
    5. Click on Apply and Ok.

Let us know how it goes.

I tried the same thing and Edge will not open. You should have kept IE at least it opened.

I typed in appsfolder and received a pop up stating that "Windows cannot find appsfolder." Is there another option? Thank you.
