Conditional Access with MFA not prompting on Outlook/Teams windows

Hi,

I have configured MFA with Conditional Access on 2 test users, and later we aim to apply it to the whole tenant.

On portal.office.com it prompts for me to enter additional security information etc mobile number.

However if I close this and do not enter the additional security information to setup MFA and instead open Outlook and Teams that I am already signed in on, it doesn't prompt for me to login.

Why is that? I would like it to prompt in Outlook and Teams even though I am already logged in so the test users (and later the whole organisation) will get prompt in outlook and teams to setup MFA.

Thanks

    I found the solution.

Modern Authentication was not enabled in the tenant.

Modern Authentication is not enabled by default on tenants that was created before 1 August 2017. This tenant was created before 2017.

Had to enable this via Powershell.

    UPDATE:

After 24 horus I know receive this prompt in Outlook asking for my password.
However it doesn't accept my password.

I run the latest office 365 version, and have other 365 accounts with mfa in my outlook which works so it can't have anything to do with the version of my outlook.

    Update:
So I tried adding the email account to Outlook on a brand new Windows 10 computer with the latest office 365 and it doesn't want to accept the password.
