Installing or updating Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Ive been looking forward to Microsoft Edge coming out, but I was late to the party with finding out. I tried going to the old Microsoft Edge to download it.. but it said "MicrosoftEdgeSetup.exe contained a virus and was deleted." Chrome does something similar. Ive made sure that I'm going to the right place to download it over and over.. and im pretty sure that Microsoft isnt trying to give me a virus.. help would be great.

May I know what anti-virus software are you using. I'm pretty sure that this file doesn't include a virus on it since it is from the official Microsoft website and this is what all of us were using to upgrade the Edge. Can you try to disable or uninstall the security software that you have?
Thats the link Ive been using.. the same message pops up.
Hi Brayden,
This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about downloading the latest version of Edge.
I actually did this multiple times on different computers and I haven't received any error messages related to the virus. Let's make sure first that you are downloading it from the correct place. Can you please click on this link and download the installer from it, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge.
I hope my suggestions help you. If you need further assistance please do reply back and I will respond as quickly as possible. Have a nice day.
Thanks,
