Opening Edge Changes System Mouse Scroll Wheel Behavior

Every time I open Microsoft Edge, it changes the Windows 10, system-wide, scroll wheel behavior of my USB-connected Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse. The scrolling becomes unbearably slow. To fix it, I have to unplug the mouse USB cable and plug back in. This only started happening in the last week or so but it is super frustrating. Anybody know how I can permanently fix this problem?

    Hello,

I have some questions to help narrow down culprits.

    • Do you use the software for your Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse and have you setup someone the switching settings for it for specific applications?

Mouse and Keyboard Center download (microsoft.com)

    • Have you used any of the scrolling flags before located in edge://flags ?
    • Is this issue happening in Edge Stable only, or does it effect other channels like Edge Canary/Dev/Beta?

Thanks for going over my questions, this could be something that gets fixed quick if it just happened recently with an update.

BTW this is now resolved but I don't know how... I assume a recent upgrade fixed it.

I am now at Edge Stable: Version 89.0.774.77 (Official build) (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.928

    Hi Frank,

This issue exists with and without the 'Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center' installed. I generally don't install that software, however I did install it to see if that would resolve the issue but it did not. I have not customized the mouse settings at all other than scroll speed... so no custom application settings either.

My edge://flags are all set at defaults. I did try to disable all the scroll related settings (one at a time) but none of that resolved the issue.

I am using Edge Stable: Version 89.0.774.63 (Official build) (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.867

I have actually switched back to Firefox as my default browser until this issue gets resolved.

    Does that answer your questions?
