Disable Tab Grouping

Question

Hi,

I have seen allot of questions on enabling it, but currently the tab grouping is on by default.
However, I would like to disable the feature, it happens multiple times a day that I create a group on accident when reordering other tabs.
I couldn't find an option to disable it in the settings or in the flags, I might have overlooked something.

Is there an option to disable tab grouping?

Since this thread has been kept quite active for quite a while.
And since there is no solution as of now.
I decided to check user voice if there already is active feedback about this issue.
I only found one that seems similar, but I am not entirely sure what that user wanted exactly, so I added my own feedback.

I have the same issue. I verified edge is up to date, Version 103.0.1264.37 (Official build) (64-bit).

I went to edge://flags/ and there is no flag for "Tab Groups Auto Create". The only one I see when searching for "tab group" is "Tab Groups Collapse Freezing".

Who the hell thought this feature was a good idea?? Tab grouping is great I do it all the time, but being able to drag and drop tabs into groups seriously interferes with productivity because I'm constantly doing it on accident. I don't want to disable grouping entirely, I just don't want it to happen when I'm just trying to move a tab to a different monitor 🤦‍♂️

If this feature isn't given the option to be removed fairly soon I'm switching browsers. It's not useful, just annoying.

Just chiming into throw a +1 on a way to disable this feature. I don't use tab groups and have 0 interest in doing so, which makes it a pure annoyance (albeit a sort of mild one). I tried disabling "tab groups collapse freezing," but that didn't help. I still get the grouping behavior when dragging tabs from one window to another, which prompts me to laborious click in and click "ungroup." I'd love it if I could just do something and never see tab groups again for the rest of my natural life.
