Hi i am using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and have just installed and started using Microsoft Edge browser and i have to say it rocks! My questions are:

#1 If i plan to get on XCloud : would Edge browser allow me to game on Ubuntu?

#2 Could i install Disney Plus as a desktop app in Ubuntu via Edge Browser?

Thanks in advance ^^

P.S

i stated Android as the OS because Linux wasn't one of the options haha At least that has a linux kernel?

Oh also i have a few suggestions about Edge and other Microsoft apps/software on Linux

#1 Make Edge and other Microsoft apps/software on linux be available in Appimage format as that is pretty much universal for all linux distro?

#2 Related to #1 why not have a Microsoft Store on linux with apps in Appimages form?

#3 I feel older/phased out Microsoft apps like Windows Media Center if made available on Linux could be a hit!

    Hi Eric and Elise

Thank you for your replies it has been helpful ^^ I am hoping XCloud on Edge Browser would be finalised soon and us linux users could get on it via Edge? Actually since Google has Chrome OS based on Chrome Browser maybe Microsoft could have "Edge OS" to run Windows and Linux apps leveraging on WSL2 perhaps?

Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

XCloud currently requires an Android app to work, but I believe there is development ongoing for this to work in the browser.

With Disney plus you can't really set it up as an app like this, it would just be a shortcut to the webpage.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise

    Hi johndoe_552,

I don't have an answer to your first question since XCloud is still in its Preview Phase.

Once you click on "install this site as an app" while you are on the Disney Plus website in Microsoft Edge, it will appear in your Show application in Ubuntu.  Right click on the Disney Plus app and click on "Add to Favorites" to put it in the dock.

    Eric
