Why suddenly the SAVE button for pdf is functioning as SAVE AS ?

Imagine being me.

Imagine you have to annotate on 200+ pdf and then save the result.

Imagine finally done with annotating, you click on the SAVE button with a sign of relief. And then, out of the blue, a box come out, asking you to insert the name of the new file. Why new file? I just want to SAVE my changes. Grudgingly, you have to select the old file name, just to find another box appear asking if you really want to overwrite. You click on yes. Finally done.

Imagine having to do that 200+ times everyday. I just want to SAVE my changes, for God's sake. Why does it have to be so complicated? Why cant the SAVE button perform exactly according to its name? If I want to SAVE AS another file, I can press CTRL+SHIFT+S. But that is not what I want.

Edge is a very nice software, but the latest update was a step backwards.

/endrant.

In the current stable release of Edge, Ctrl-S acts like Save As and doesn't save an edited version on top of the unedited one unless you say so.

The traditional workflow with separate options for Save and Save Asis on its way, currently implemented for testing in preview versions. There's a new Highlight tool, too: see the newest toolbar.

You're welcome to download the Dev, say, and try it out. It won't interfere with your current version, so you can easily compare them. I use Dev as my daily browser with very few problems.
