Print Settings

Is there a way to make my print settings the default? I need to print the URL at the bottom of my pages. When I select headers and footers it works but the next time I print it may or may not have the URL. This worked fine less than a week ago. I don't know what happened. Was there an update that may have caused this?

    Is there a way to make my print settings the default?

    This is an old question, to which the answer is 'probably'. If you'd like the Edge engineers to consider providing a 'Set as default' button under More settings, then please use the Send feedback option to say so. The more users who do this, the more likely it is that they will take notice.

    That said, it looks as if 'advanced' print settings are indeed stored in the profile preferences. Preferences are loaded at browser launch, so they should persist. Sadly, I don't have a physical printer to test with, so I'd ask you to try this: with a page you want to print active, press Ctrl-Shift-P to open the printer's own dialogue. Select the options you want as the defaults and click Apply. Print the page, then restart the browser. Open the page and the print dialogue again; are the options still as you set them?

    When using the Microsoft Print to PDF driver and going through this exercise, I see this section in the profile Preferences file:

      "printing": {

        "print_preview_sticky_settings": {

          "appState": "{\"version\":2,\"recentDestinations\":[{\"id\":\"Save as PDF\",\"origin\":\"local\",\"account\":\"\",\"capabilities\":null,\"displayName\":\"Save as PDF\",\"printerStatus\":\"\",\"extensionId\":\"\",\"extensionName\":\"\"},{\"id\":\"Microsoft Print to PDF\",\"origin\":\"local\",\"account\":\"\",\"capabilities\":null,\"displayName\":\"Microsoft Print to PDF\",\"printerStatus\":\"\",\"extensionId\":\"\",\"extensionName\":\"\"}],\"dpi\":{},\"duplexType\":\"NO_DUPLEX\",\"mediaSize\":{\"height_microns\":297000,\"is_default\":true,\"name\":\"ISO_A4\",\"width_microns\":210000,\"custom_display_name\":\"A4\"},\"marginsType\":0,\"customMargins\":{\"marginTop\":29,\"marginRight\":28,\"marginBottom\":28,\"marginLeft\":29},\"isColorEnabled\":true,\"isHeaderFooterEnabled\":true,\"isLandscapeEnabled\":true,\"isCollateEnabled\":true,\"isCssBackgroundEnabled\":true,\"scaling\":\"100\",\"vendorOptions\":{}}"

    so I'm hopeful that the settings will stick.

    Hi, MeganRobinson3

    Thank you for using our Microsoft Community!

    It seems like there is something wrong with the printer settings.

    You can try troubleshoot printer issue to check the printer.

    Or you can go Settings>Update & Security>View the update history>uninstall the latest update, restart your device and check the problem.

    I hope the information provided is useful for you.

    Best Regards
