Undo MS Edge Sync

I turned on my sync on my MacBook and it synced with my windows desktop MS edge, I have now lost all my favourites from my macbook and lost hundreds of saved sites for work.

What can I do to get these back?

HELP please!!

    Hi James,

    First of all make a back-up of all your favourites before proceed the next steps (Windows & Mac) and turn the sync off on all devices:

    1. Go to C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default
    2. If you're lucky you'll find a file: Bookmarks.bak
    3. Replace this file (bookmarks.bak) by BookmarkTo be safe: back-up both files before performing any modification.

    When you have recoverd your files, make an export of these favorites (to be safe).

    If you don't find the bookmarks.bak file, you can try systemrestore to the date before the sync.
