Hi,

Today on my Edge browser I noticed these downloaded files or whatever they're called but I don't know which site it got downloaded from. I tried deleting them but to no avail. What are they? I don't know if this falls under this forum or for Windows.

Another thing is, almost always when I close my browser, I see this message. Again, I don't know why it appears. I wasn't downloading anything. What is happening? Is someone trying to hack my account?

Please help. I'm very worried. Thank you.

    Hi all,

I reported the issue to IT and after they evaluate the file, they suggested me to clean all cookies from the browser.  Since that, it is no longer presented.

My advise: Never open it, delete immediately, deep clean the cookies selecting all from your browser.

I hope this will help us until more info come from the MS specialists.

    Sincerely,

    A Alonso.

    Hi all,

Once I close the Microsoft Form account (logout) I notice it download the file, I am using Google Chrome.  I haven't opened it and it was delete immediately, but is important to know the security behind this file.  Also, this happen after logout MS-Form, and keeping the browser open, never happened when I closed the browser.

Thank you for the reply, Greg. I am on a Windows 10 laptop and my browser has always been the new Microsoft Edge. There is no open Google Chrome browser nor Firefox. I rarely use them.

I closed my browser and when I opened it again, the downloads read canceled. I haven't tried the steps you gave cause I think they're complicated and I don't want to lose my saved passwords.

Hi MSC. I'm Greg, an Independent Advisor.

Where exactly are you seeing those Expire Cookie choices? Please take a screenshot of the whole panel so i can see everything. The only browser I find that uses that ExpireCookie panel is Safari. There is not one reference to Edge using it. Are you sure you're not seeing that in Safari Browser?

Cookies settings in Edge should work like this:

    https://pureinfotech.com/clear-cache-cookies-ed...

I'll give you everything possible to fix Edge so something should work:

    1. If possible back up your Favorites first in Edge Hub (three dots top right of browser) > Favorites > Manage Favorites > Export to file: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/143983-how-...

If you can't open Edge but another browser will open, then go into it's Settings to try to "Import from another Browser" your Edge Favorites so they are at least backed up.

    1. You can reset new Edge in Edge Settings > Reset Settings.
    2. You can also try the repairs here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-e...

    https://www.windowscentral.com/five-ways-fix-co...

    1. Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 17 to test a new Local Admin account. Then if necessary continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    1. If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while saving your files, apps and settings in place, brings it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/software-downlo...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
