Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
My Surface Book 2 recently upgraded itself to the latest version of Microsofts Edge Browser. I now get frequent screen crashes most specifically when viewing the CNN pages. I typically only get a minute or so to view the page before getting the error message: Status-Access-violation.
I can open these pages without any problem if I use the Chrome browser but had hoped that I could use a Microsoft Browser on a Microsoft PC occasionally, seems not.
Any advice please

Hi, thank you for your interest...
I am running Windows 19 version 1903 (OS Build 18362.900)
I don't know if it occurs on other websites, I had stopped using edge because too many sites that i visit with a graphics content would crash (essentially online newspapers and science journals) when this new version of edge came out i thought I'd try it with CNN news but this frequently crashes.
When the page i have opened freezes i get the message: error code: status access violation.
I don't know what this is but I'm only trying to read a page from the CNN website, i believe this to be safe and reliable content, i certainly don't have the same problem if i open such pages with my Chrome browser.
I have very little confidence in the new edge browser and will stop using it, shame as i would like to use Microsoft built products.
I too have the exact same issues with a new Surface 2 laptop which I only just purchased and I feel let down that I am experiencing this issue with a brand new laptop built by Microsoft. Interestingly , my place of work has similar issues which they are trying to address.
I am also having frequent "microsoft is not responding" while working in Point Click Care which is medical software. I had to use google browser because I can't get sufficient work done. How do I switch back to the previous version?
