Edge Processes in task manager

In my task manager when looking at Memory column MS Edge (the new one) has like 15 Sub processes going on with in it and taking a lot of memory does any one know where this is coming from?

    Web browsers these days are among the most resource hungry software on your PC, so all web browsers now are multi-threaded, with each task put on a separate process, so those processes can be divided among the cores of your processor . . .

    Think of it this way, the main Edge program is one process, the audio is another, the video is another, the search another and each tab you have open will also have its own process, just opening Edge will spawn at least 6 processes . . .

    This is all very normal for any browser these days!

    Following on from Dave's reply, there is another feature of the new Edge you may not have noticed. Press Shift-Escape to open the browser task manager.  This will show you which processes Edge is running and what resources they are using. You may find, for example, that extensions you may have installed are running in the background with associated memory consumption. This is what mine currently looks like, with just a couple of tabs open:
