Useful functionality removed. Why?

Why was "#edge-sound-content-setting" removed? With headlong rust to release a public version a raft of useful features were left by the wayside.

This simple feature that allows one to mute a site is most needed. So many sites auto play audio at full volume. Yet Microsoft chose force us to try and click on the tab and mute each time we open an offending site.  What kind of decision making process removes useful functions???

    Greg,

    Thanks for the reply.

I started with Edge Canary and Dev last spring and was an active submitter of issues and suggestions.

This issue was reported by many others on the insiders community when it was first removed from

the tab context menu shortly after initial beta release.

I will resubmit as you suggest but it's been my experience that it will be ignored in the order that

    it's received.

    Edit:

I did as you requested in Feedback

    Amen to "o.p."/Boskoe!

SO annoying to have to 'mute' every tab (if/when) opened from the same site!  I make a living providing a DJ/Karaoke service since '96 and I may not be using Edge while at work now, upon discovering that this little nifty feature is gone.  :(  It's ashame, because so far I was loving the new Edge!  I'm online almost constantly or on phone or laptops/pc's and even when not working, who wants to be scared out of their seat by a loud commercial upon opening a new tab?  NO ONE!

Just wanted to say thanks to both of you!

I'll also post in "Feedback" for sure!  Hopefully they'll bring that feature back pronto!

    Sincerely,

    DJ Mr. Jaimie J

Hi Boskoe. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

Edge was previewed by millions of beta testers (Insiders) for over a year, yet there are functions that are still obviously missing. Many are shocked there's not better Favorites or Tab management and features.

If you want to express your opinion on this to Edge Developers you can choose the Edge Hub (three dots to right of URL address bar) then Help & Feedback, then Feedback form to fill out.

If you want to click the Share link on your Feeback to post back a Share link to it here, I will endorse it with my MVP badge and others who find this thread can vote it up and add to it.
