Edge Issues

Question

I have several issues with edge recently.

1. It continues to open on previous sessions even though I have never had that activated in my settings (double checked to make sure it was set to always open on new tab)
2. It randomly opens with a pinned tab that is invalid, the url is always a series of random letters such as "sakhfuqcnetbwirncxfqwkfskdjnOIfoaieraeurneimx/onetab.htm"

A note about this - I do not have the onetab extension installed on my edge browser so I have no idea why this is even here

3. even after deleting all the cookies, and history and all stored data these issues continue to happen.

This is not what I want. I have that setting set to open on a new tab. I do not like it to continue a previous session which is why it is frustrating that it continues a session from a different browser. This should not be happening.

Check this ON startup settings in edge and make sure you also review the Security settings on your Edge browser (Defender/Site Permission settings/block pop-ups)

Hello, sorry for the extremely late response.

My edge is up-to-date and I have never had oneTab extension on my edge browser. I do have it on chrome. (I found another Microsoft Community post, which I believe is related to my issue: Edge opens tabs used on Chrome - Microsoft Community). I also posted a response there about my issue today since I had never received any notification of a response here before.

Did you install any extension before these problems started?

Try navigating to edge://settings/help and make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft Edge.

Did you install any program before this problem started?
