Edge Thinks I'm Somewhere Else?

Edge Version 101.0.1210.39 (Official build) (64-bit)

Using Windows 10

I live nowhere near Texas, but Edge seems to think I do.

While this can be an advantage browsing the web and while exploring a search result being redirected to some questionable porn sites before I realize what's happened, it gets annoying when trying to find a pet store, getting weather, a McDonald's or Walmart near me?

While I'm comfortable with them not knowing where I am, is there an explanation for this?

Hi Jet. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

See here how to set your location for Edge

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-e...

If it detects the wrong location see here for how to fix it:

(Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro, PC Repair Tool and Reimage ads)

If you want to express your opinion on this you may be able to help Microsoft improve this product/experience by using the Feedback Hub in Start Menu, especially if you are comfortable with sharing relevant data and screen recordings. Microsoft developers DO read feedback from customers that comes in via the Feedback Hub, so that is a great way to share your thoughts on how to better serve you as a customer.

If you want to post back a Share link from your Feedback, others can vote it up and add to it to try to build momentum to get the developers to act .

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
