I purchased a new desktop with Windows 10 and Edge. When I added my printer to the new desktop, I noticed that my print screen is entirely different, which I believe is due to Edge. However, when I want to print a document in black and white, I normally would go into Preferences and change "Print in Grayscale" to black only, apply, then print my document. However, I see where my choices in Edge is Color or Monochrome. So I used the dropdown list where Color is indicated to change to Monochrome and Monochrome has a circle with a slash through it, and it will not enable Monochrome for me to print in black ink only. Have changed my preferences everywhere to print in black, but Monochrome will not enable. I have downloaded the recent print driver that HP has suggested, to no avail. My printer worked perfectly well with my old desktop, but in the 30 minutes it took me to hook up my new desktop and to install my printer this has occurred. New ink cartridges, which is not the problem, clean ink jet outlets etc. with alcohol, does not fix. Inconceivable that some are telling me hardware failure on printer, when I had not problems 30 minutes prior with old computer. If any one can help, please, because right now my only option it tossing it out the window.
